Herd immunity is a term first used to describe a situation where over half the population is vaccinated against diseases such as measles, whooping cough, chicken pox and polio. Those people being immune protects those who are not immune from being exposed to the disease.
Allowing a pandemic to rage uncontrolled will never create herd immunity without a large majority of the population getting sick. Their is mounting evidence that immunity to COVID-19 may only be a few months. If. that is true, herd immunity may not be possible even if a vaccine is developed.
COVID-19 is a highly contagious disease. At 90, my chance of dying from COVID-19 is 6X higher that that of a 20 year old. When you approach me without a mask, you are definitely threatening to kill me.

When Mr. Trump says his policy is to develop herd immunity in the United States he is sentencing millions of people to death.
When he says he is immune, no one knows how long the immunity will last.
When he says COVID-19 is no worse than any other flu, he is totally oblivious to the quarter million people who have died or the 300,000 people suffering serious, long term health problems.
Folks, COVID-19 is a deadly disease. Take it seriously. You cannot depend on the Government for accurate information. Your life depends on the information resources you believe in.
