It’s your life. If you are satisfied, keep doing what you have been doing. If you are not satisfied, figure out what you have to change,

There are four rules you should remember:

1. Think for your self. Advertisers use all kinds of tricks to manipulate your thoughts. Recognize the logical tricks they use and you will probably save money.
2. Don’t put up with bullies. They will keep pushing till you stop them.
3. Don’t get boxed in. Being creative means using your imagination to find problems you can solve. I help people use the internet to transition from where they are to where they want to be. Your business is yours alone. What you share with me is private, and I am honor-bound to keep it that way.
4. Create passive income based on multiple sources.

I have a vision.

In fact, I have two visions. When trying to forecast the future, the 2020 election will have a tremendous impact on our lives. If Mr. Trump remains in power, I expect to be living in a fascist dictatorship.

If V.P. Biden wins we can expect pretty much a pre-Trump status quo.

One thing we can be pretty sure of is we will have to deal with both COVID-19 and runaway inflation, The economy has pretty much recovered for higher-income employees. For those making less than $60K per year, the outlook is dim. Service jobs are not coming back and a majority of small businesses will not reopen. (Link)

Dealing with COVID-19

We know what we have to do to control the virus We need to shut down everything for ~ a month, We need to maintain social distancing and wear masks until a vaccine is available.

If we don’t take COVID-19 seriously, the USA will have 2 million deaths by this time next year. (9/21) The economy will not recover until the virus is under control.

People who have to work will have to take there chances. Under a Trump administration, “It is what it is.” Biden will do everything possible to get the pandemic under control.

Dealing with inflation.

In the last 4 decades, inflation has doubled ever 10 years. That means, if the trend continues, you will have to double your income to maintain the same spending power. I expect a hyper-inflation similar to Venezuela. Venezuelan’s have invested in gold, bitcoin, and US dollars. I think the only solution for most Americans is bit-coin. One of the best ways to deal with inflation is to invest in assets now. Traditionally, that is real estate. If you are a writer, it could be your computer. It can even be yourself if you are improving your skills in a way that can make you more money.

Living under an autocratic regime.

I once had an associate who lived in China, I asked him what it was like doing business in a Communist country. He told me, “I tend to my business and ignore politics.” Keeping a low profile is probably a good idea. If you come to the attention of the Government, you just might disappear.

If Mr. Trump remains in power, I will try to be politically invisible and will look for ways to work in the Underground economy. If Mr. Biden wins office, I will be free to try to fix what is broken and run my business more openly.

Either way, I will continue to help people deal with the changes that are inevitable.

This is important. Don’t get blindsided. Look at trends that will influence our lives. We are not fortune-tellers predicting the future.

We must look at trends and forecast how those trends will affect us if they continue. Our forecast for what will happen tomorrow is a lot better that our forecast for what our lives will be like next year.

We know warming oceans will spawn more and stronger storms.

We know glaciers are melting much faster than scientists had expected. 80% of the worlds’ population will have to move away from the coast in the lifetime of my grandchildren.

We are in the midst of the 6th great extinction. Half the species on earth have gone extinct in my lifetime. The more biodiversity weakens, the faster the world’s resilience weakens. Pandemics have there roots in the wild meat people around the world are eating.

Snow pack is melting a month earlier and winter snows are coming a month later. In the USA, western coniferous forest are moisture stressed by longer dry seasons. Weak trees are being killed by bark beatles. Fuel builds up and is drier because of longer summer droughts. Disastrous fires are burning throughout the west because of a drier climate. Forest scientists predict that 80% of the West’s coniferous forests will be converted to grass land within the next 30 years.

Conclusion

Watch how climate change is affecting your area. Evaluate evolving risks and be prepared. If you want to live close to the coast, build flood proof homes. If you live in southern California, build fire proof homes and plant fire resistant landscaping.

Remember the four rules. Know what is happening, check your sources, make up your own mind as to what you can believe. In times of disaster, people draw together to help each other, but there are also those who will take advantage of any situation to get what they can. Be prepared to protect yourself from looters.

Chaos is a tool of fascist dictators. Chaos can be scary, but it can also provide opportunity. Think for yourself, be prepared to defend yourself, create an independent income, and don’t get boxed in.
